JD Breen has spent most of his professional life building bridges that connect objective natural promontories or subjective human perspectives. He spent his first professional decade as a civil engineer, retrofitting the Golden Gate Bridge, facilitating ferry traffic across San Francisco Bay, and designing highways to convey, detain, or annoy drivers in Northern California, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.

While in San Francisco, he took a detour into economics, and ended up in a cul-de-sac from which he has yet to emerge. He has since served in leadership positions at several Fortune 500 companies, and is now a private investor. He has a beautiful wife, two wonderful sons, and an extended (and tolerant) family on whom he regularly inflicts his unwelcome musings.

In his spare time, he watches, reads about, and travels the world around him, and is often unable contain his thoughts. The leakage spills onto this site, and the poor reader is tasked with mopping it up.
